Hi, I’m Ceri Roberts. I’m an educational psychologist and I also have training in counselling and psychotherapy. I work with children and young people to help them talk about the things that matter to them, make sense of their experiences, and learn new ways to cope with challenges in their lives.
I can support young people who feel stressed, worried, or find certain things tricky, and I also work with children and young people who have autism or ADHD.
In our sessions, we can do lots of different things, like talking, drawing, or playing, whatever feels most helpful for the child or young person. I use approaches like narrative therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy, which are ways of exploring experiences, thoughts and feelings safely and creatively.
Keeping children and young people safe is really important. I will explain how privacy, data protection, and safety checks work at the start, so children, young people and their parents or caregivers know exactly what to expect and feel comfortable.
Right now, I am offering online sessions for children and young people aged 12 and over. These sessions are a helpful space to talk and learn new coping skills, but they aren’t a replacement for services like CAMHS and aren’t meant for young people who have serious mental health needs.
